  • BILLA redeveloped its apprenticeship search concept and sent a specially created walk-in truck through Austria

  • The truck offered interested parties advice on all ten apprenticeships at BILLA as well as an exciting escape game

The truck provided all interested parties with information about the wide range of training opportunities at BILLA, including an exciting escape game. The innovative concept not only generated enthusiasm among visitors, but also in the marketing industry. The unique project, which was developed by BILLA in cooperation with the Stargate Group advertising agency, won an award at this year's VAMP Awards at the Ottakringer Brewery. The prize for Ambient Media, Promotion and Digital out of Home from the Marketing Club Austria honors special ideas in the areas of non-classical advertising measures and digital outdoor advertising. The BILLA Transformer Tour took first place in the "Best Road Show" category and also secured third place in the "Best Live Marketing Activity" category.

Harald Mießner, BILLA Board Member for Sales: "With the BILLA Transformer Tour, we wanted to demonstrate how modern and interesting apprenticeships at BILLA are, and we definitely succeeded. During our tour from Vienna to Innsbruck, we got to know numerous young talents and received great feedback for our unique apprentice truck. The top award in the categories 'best road show' and 'best live marketing activity' at this year's VAMP Award proves that we are in tune with the spirit of the times with our innovative measures. My thanks go to the team responsible for designing the truck and implementing the tour."

Elke Peller-Kühne, Head of Human Resources Management at BILLA AG: "We have successfully expanded our portfolio of unique apprentice initiatives with the implementation of the BILLA Transformer Tour. The tour through Austria has enabled us to make direct contact with many young talents and position ourselves as an attractive employer with a wide range of career opportunities. I am delighted with the two awards we received at this year's VAMP Awards and would like to thank my colleagues who were instrumental in the success of the tour."

Wide range of career opportunities at BILLA

The BILLA family offers young talents ten exciting apprenticeships - including retail sales assistant with a focus on food, delicatessen or digital sales, confectioner, double apprenticeships as a retail sales assistant or office administrator. Apprentices can also complete an apprenticeship with a school-leaving certificate and internships abroad. During their training, apprentices receive individually tailored packages of measures that provide them with targeted support depending on their skills. Graduates receive attractive bonuses for completing vocational school and final apprenticeship examinations with good results. There is also the opportunity to apply for the junior management program after successfully completing an apprenticeship. A special highlight of the apprenticeship at BILLA is the "Apprentices lead stores" campaign. As part of this, apprentices take over the management of selected BILLA stores for a week. This successful project is being implemented for the twelfth time this year.
